Factor out the greatest common factor from each group.

Group the first two terms and the last two terms.

([tex]x^{2}[/tex]−4x)+2xy−8y

Factor out the greatest common factor (GCF) from each group.

x(x−4)+2y(x−4)

Factor the polynomial by factoring out the greatest common factor,  x−4.

(x−4)(x+2y)

I believe this is correct. Good luck.
