Simplify (1/x+1)+(1/x-1). Is it 2/xsquared minus 1

Relax. Do you see that plus " + " sign in the middle ? That means there's no multiplication involved, only addition and combining like terms. You can just erase all the parentheses and add everything up. I think you end up with just 2/x .
