If you want to convert a number to a percentage you have to multiply that number by 100 with the sign %.

[tex]\frac{7}{12}=\frac{7}{12}\cdot100\%=\frac{700}{12}\%=\frac{700:4}{12:4}\%=\frac{175}{3}\%=\boxed{58\frac{1}{3}\%}[/tex]
