As for words, you'd double click on all your words to highlight them, and then you go to the font color at the top and click black.
As for filling in the background I'm not sure you can for completely black unless you took a picture and just covered the page with it and used a white text box. Otherwise, I'm sure it'd be in the insert box! I hope this helps! Good luck, rockstar. (:
