Because 2x+3y=1 and the value of y is x-8,we substitute
2x + 3(x-8)=1
2x +3x- 24=1
5x = 24
x=4.8

Given that we have the value of x, we can now substitute it in the other equation.
y=x-8
y=4.8-8
y= -3.2

The answer is (4.8, -3.2)
