The idea of manifest destiny is the belief that God wanted the whites to settle all over north America. This was bad for the native American's because it caused slavery, slaves, and native american removal.
Americans wanted to spread and settle west and go wherever they please they believe it was their destiny. While they were trying to achieve this they would take over the natives homes and try and convert them to american culture
