Can visible lights cook food?

Light transfers energy, and if this energy is absorbed it will heat the food. So yes visible lights do.

To an extent, visible light cannot cook food; however, radiation from the microwave can cook food. Visible light can cook food to a certain degree, however, it is not the optimal choice as energy transfer takes longer. Hope this helps! :)
