A 16-year-old usually needs about 2,500-3,200 calories for energy. A baby's calorie diet is around 35-50 per pound. The reasoning is that a baby does not move around as much as a teenager would. A baby cannot walk or run. A teenager however moves a lot whether to get up to go eat or to a different room.
