The prey is usually alone and the predator usually sneaks up on the prey to catch it. Like a polar bear and a seal, seals tend to hide under the ice sometimes and polar bears would try to pound through the ice just to get to the seal. So the predator is the one that wants to eat the seal which is the polar bear.
