Explanation:

Habitat selection is the process in which organism choose a habitat which is best suited for them and for their survival.

All the organisms choose and select habitat that meets most or all of their needs like climate, food accessibility and availability, predator numbers, etc.

As the number of need increases the pool of habitat starts getting more shrink because the organism has to select smaller patches to get a more suitable habitat. Therefore habitat selection limits the habitat range and size.
