The best explanation of the differences of light-dependent and independent reactions is that light-dependent reactions of photosynthesis reactions require light and water that happen in thylakoids that produces ATP and NADPH while light-independent reactions use carbon dioxide that happen in the stoma, and as a result gives high-energy sugars.
