You can see from the table that the y coordinate is always obtained by doubling the x coordinate and switching its sign. So, the relation is

[tex]h(x)=y=-2x[/tex]

To invert this function, we must solve for y. Simply divide both sides by -2 and we have

[tex]x=-\dfrac{y}{2}[/tex]

Rename the variables to get

[tex]h^{-1}(x) = -\dfrac{x}{2}[/tex]
