Pressurized steam is a simple and effective sterilization method. Medical autoclaves are devices that uses steam to sterilize materials and equipment. Pressurized steam or Autoclaving typical conditions are at a temperature of 121 degrees C, 15 psi for 15 minutes or  longer to kill endospores.
To destroy prions, conditions of autoclaving is at 132 degrees C for 4.5 hours.
